Shrove Tuesday is a fine thing. My Swedish pancakes turned out quite yummy, and I managed to find some of the traditional lingonberry jam at the market (pricey stuff, though, ouch) to which I've taken quite a liking.

We had a pancake supper at St. Luke's tonight, which was fun. There was a Mardi Gras theme - I now have shiny beads (which I had to do absolutely nothing to get :P). Silver, copper, gold, and a light metallic purple go really well together. I may use that as a color scheme for something. Shiny...

There was a moment of cruel teasing on tonight's Scrubs, when Dr. Cox and guest star Brendan Fraser came this close *Cas holds up fingers about an inch apart* from snogging. I was all "OMG, are they gonna do what it looks like they're about to do?" and then, nothing. Joke. Fraser's character announces himself still the champion of "gay chicken". Grrr. Don't tease us like that.

Watched episode 10 of Miracles, "Saint Debbie", tonight. Fell even more in love with Alva Keel, if that's possible. Dear lord, that is one sexy, complex Scotsman. *drools a bit* God, I love this show. I'm going to be whining about its unfair cancellation for months.

I've friended quite a few people recently, so hi and welcome *waves to [livejournal.com profile] alvafan, [livejournal.com profile] chazzbanner, [livejournal.com profile] deborak, [livejournal.com profile] icepixie, and [livejournal.com profile] schiarire*

Especially as it was sort of made in that Muppet style, or like Pacman

Hee! Oh, perfect description. Repulsive, since Pacman brings to mind a mole that, er, runs around trying to eat things (oh god that's vile imagery, I'll stop). But apt.

Or maybe a desperate effort to believe in the case, any case, b/c he usually doesn't and maybe if he does this time Paul will like it.

Ah ha, I like that possibility. I didn't even think of it, so distracted was I by jealous!Paul and the subtle territory marking between Alva and Poppi at the beginning. But it certainly fits, since Alva knows Paul wants to believe, and that he's burned out on disappointment before. Mulder and Scully each did that a couple of times back in the day (I keep bringing up X-Files as a comparison, tsk, so lazy)- after some trauma, Mulder would try to be skeptical for Scully or vice versa. It never went well or lasted long, but the thought was kind of sweet, like when your cats bring you dead things. I could definitely see Alva, with his dubious social skills, trying that to keep Paul with him. Aw. I just want to give him a hug.

A man-eating mole, eep! Sounds like a mutant from a bad b-movie.

Oooh yes, that was nice. They were both so obviously staking their claims, with Paul in the background being all "Geez, they're fighting over me. Such masochists. More coffee, anyone?"

but the thought was kind of sweet, like when your cats bring you dead things.

Hee! With their social skills, any gestures they might make could be scarily similar *g* I can only imagine what sort of courting/mating rituals they might come up with...

Aw, they look so cute :)
