Ok, I'm officially annoyed.

Was happily making my way through my SG1 season 7 DVD set, when I got to the last DVD. Halfway through "Heroes part 2", the screen goes all pixelated and then dies. I tried it in another DVD player - same thing. Tried it on my laptop - same thing. Flipped to another episode, "Lost City", and that one won't even play. It's all black at the beginning, no picture at all, and the sound goes in and out.

So I stayed up this morning (I've been up since 5 yesterday afternoon) to drive down to Best Buy and make an exchange. It's a good 30 miles (at least) to get there, mind you. I exchanged it for a new S7 set, and brought it home.

Just now popped the last disc in the player to check, and oh joy. This set messes up in the exact. same. place. Same disc, same scene, same damn second.

Called Best Buy, and all they can tell me is to come back down and get another new set. At this point, though, I'm afraid their entire shipment might be bad or something. I asked if there was a way I could check that it worked while there in the store (before driving so far to bring it home), but I got a "maybe" answer on that. Argh.

I could just get another season, but they didn't have many others to choose from. Dammit, why can't these things work on the first try. If I wasn't so obsessed with watching the whole set right away, I might not have known the last disc was defective until too late. *sigh* I hate to drive all the way back there today. I might have time tonight after choir practice, but it takes almost $5 worth of gas each time, and I don't relish the thought of going through every S7 set they have until I find one that works. Bastards.
