Here's the

fannish5 from a few weeks ago, just because.

1. What is (one of) your guilty pleasure episode(s)? Hard to pick a fandom for this one. Certain episodes of Wild Wild West and Man from UNCLE. This one episode of Young Hercules, "Ares on Trial", where there's "OMG I thought you were dead!" angst, and a cute hug. The ep of Emergency! where Johnny is hit by a car and much angst follows. Even that old episode of Happy Days where Richie gets in the motorcycle accident, nearly dies, and Fonzie emotes all over the screen. Cheesy as hell, but I love them.

2. What is (one of) your guilty pleasure movie(s)? Any animated movie from the 80s, really. You know me and childhood nostalgia. Jurassic Park III, because it was such a silly, slashy little movie. Such fun. Oh yeah, and it had dinosaurs. Old John Wayne westerns, especially Rio Lobo. Gremlins 2. Yes, really. It's terribly funny, and has John Glover in it (come on, that's all the reason you need).

3. What is (one of) your gulity pleasure website(s)? Um...you sure? Ok. This website, which has mp3s of the songs from the Care Bears movies. Did Cas download most of those songs? Yes. Cas is five years old and gets hugely nostalgic when she listens to those songs. Just don't spread it around, you'll ruin my rep as a tough-as-nails redhead.

4. What is (one of) your guilty pleasure fandom(s)? Sometimes all of my fandoms seem like guilty pleasures. But probably shows like Tremors the Series. Certainly not the greatest hour of tv ever, but I loved that show and miss it terribly now that it's gone. It was such a safe fandom, you know? Slashy, entertaining, and I didn't have to worry about it going somewhere I wouldn't like. It was safe.

The special hell goes in this category, too. If I read, Lotrips, that is. Really, this is all hypothetical...

5. What is (one of) your guilty pleasure fanfic(s)? Macx and LaraBee's Tremors Slash page. The entire fandom is a guilty pleasure, including the slash. Not the greatest in the world, but there are plots, it's monogamous, and they have happy endings.

To pick just one fic, I'd choose

merryish's Wolves and Boybands Mate for Life (her page is down for some reason *insert slight panic here*, but you can access the fic through the Wayback Machine). I don't read popslash. Really, I don't even listen to the music. But I'll read pretty much anything by Merry Lynne, I love her style so much, and this is such a great fic, with a happy ending to boot. So go on, embrace the sparkly!

Also, most of the fic on The Real Ghostbusters Fan Page. Just an old cartoon, but dude, it's inspired some great fic. Sheila Paulson is one of the most prolific fan writers ever, plus there's Brenda Anders, Kitty Woldow, and up until recently, I could have recced Robyn and Mara's fic (best RGB fic in the fandom, IMO, and certainly the best slash) but Robyn is working on being a published author and so the webpage has been taken down. I have their stories saved, though, so if anyone is interested, email me.

And this week's...

1. What is the most pimpable fandom you've tried to pimp someone into? Well, Hornblower was a pretty easy fandom to pimp, at least to

cimmerianwillow :) LOTR is pretty easy, as it jumps pimps itself. Most fandoms are more difficult to pimp due to lack of ready access (off air, not syndicated, etc.).

2. What is the least pimpable fandom you've tries to pimp someone into? Like Willow said, Barney Miller is for some reason very hard to pimp. There are literally maybe five people in this fandom. It shouldn't be hard, b/c dude, so very slashy and overall an amazing show, but it is.

3. What fandom would you be interested in having someone pimp you into? I've always wanted to get into the Professionals fandom. I mean, I've read fic, can tell you a lot about the show, think Bodie is the hottest thing ever, have even seen vids, but I've never seen an episode. If someone ever wanted to send me episodes, I wouldn't complain ;)

4. What fandom are you currently trying to pimp people into? Currently? Miracles. Awesome, beautiful show which deserves a bigger fandom than it has. Also, we need some fic writers! I point anyone interested to

alvafan (who provides great VCDs of all 13 episodes) and Jo and Gwyn's Miracles vid "Darkness, Darkness".

5. What is your most successful way of pimping someone into a new fandom? Fic recommendations, songvids, episodes, combination, etc? All of the above. I'll rec fic, vids, and post quotes and pics and such. But really,

cimmerianwillow made a great point that the best way to pimp something is face-to-face. Willow and I have shared so many fandoms by virtue of one of us getting a new obsession, squeeing to the other about it, then sitting down and watching it together. It's a great system.

Well, today was the end of the last full week of school for this year. Only three days to work next week, and then I'll be saying goodbye to elementary school teaching. I've no idea what I'm doing for the summer yet, and still have no concrete plans for the fall (yes, I'm panicking about that now, but that's my own fault). Time for job searching again.
