Yes! Woohoo!

Major spoilers for tonight's Everwood behind the cut!
Or, well, not the witch, but the relationship from hell. Andy broke up with Linda! *does the happy dance of joy*
I'm slightly miffed that they did it in such a way that actually makes me feel sorry for them (yeah, even Linda...gasp), but the result is the same. The thing I've been hating all season is finally over. And it looks like Linda might be leaving for good next week. Since she's only a guest star, I had a feeling it was just a matter of time.
She's not leaving things intact, though. Poor Harold. I love that he was so ready to fight (though I have to admit I didn't want him to), but now it looks like he's going to suffer the consequences anyway. Not being able to practice for an indeterminate number of months? Not good. I hope Rose gets a good salary as mayor.
How much do I love Andy for not taking all the patients who wouldn't go to Dr. Abbott. That was wonderful, him sticking up for his boyfriend and all that, even though they're fighting.
I still think Delia should've been grounded, though. Have Andy make it clear that she's not being punished for telling Linda's secret, but still be punished for punching out Brittany. Somehow, the "starting a fistfight is wrong" message should have gotten through.
I was so amused by Bright's objection to Amy liking Ephram again. He came off as both protective and slightly jealous at once. Hee.
Amidst all the angst of tonight's ep, it's nice to have something to be happy about. I'm starting to miss that in my shows. There aren't that many series I'm watching right now, but it seems lately that all of them are a variation on the theme of "The Angst that Ate Manhatten". It's exhausting. I need a happy show again. I miss my happy shows.
In RL news, my morning was quite satisfying, as a change in my lesson plan resulted in the most writing from one student I've gotten all year. She usually is eager enough to read, but once we get to the writing, she just shuts down and doesn't produce a thing. Today the 3rd grade teacher gave me some new material to try, so we chose a poem, which I read to them, and asked them to draw a picture about what the poem made them see. They were so creative! The poem was about why snakes shed their skins (to go with a book we had just read), and the other little girl drew a snake that had gotten too big for its house and was bursting out the roof :) Then they both wrote me a story to tell me about their pictures. It was wonderful, and they were both so pleased with themselves about their accomplishments. With the one girl, who has such a rough time of it, this is a major step. Anything that gets her to participate and learn is a good thing. She even asked if we could do another one tomorrow (I'm thinking of course we will, let's go with it while it works).
For the afternoon, I had to sub for the music teacher again. This is becomming a regular thing, as of late. I actually had to give them a music lesson today, learning a few songs out of their books. 'Twas fun, although those songs are now stuck in my head, much to my annoyance.
Spent a wonderful Sunday with
cimmerianwillow, during which there was food, laughter, and many terrible hats. Willow of course documented the horrors of it all, so you can see us and the travesties that were those hats here.

:-) And I liked "He even sounds like Abbott!"
You know I wonder if they are never going to have a kind of "ok I forgive you" scene but will just choose to drop it (tacit forgiveness I guess). This happened in the Patrick O'Brian books when Stephen and Jack were about to duel -- suddenly: battle, injury, ok hurt/comfort!, and nothing is ever said about the duel again. Some men might just be like that.

Oooh, yeah. That incident from Master and Commander always stuck out in my mind for that very reason. A little injury during battle, a little fussing, and all is forgiven without a word. Nice that they can do that, but then I like seeing the apologies, too. I'm kind of hoping for a good apology/reconciliation scene with Harold and Andy. Would a hug be asking be for too much? ;)
