Ok, not dead, just exhausted and over-worked. There's just too much to do during Holy Week. Once again, I got suckered into helping out with the Easter play thing over at my parents' church, even though I haven't attended there for years. I end up going back every Easter to do the makeup, though, and keep the drama director from going insane.

Some of it's actually fun, b/c I get to play with stage makeup - doing bruises, scars (messy messy messy), and lots and lots of blood (which always ends up in my hair). It's a messy job, hell on the hands (the blood gets under my nails and stains), but I've always enjoyed playing with goopy things like this. The not fun bit is having to be in the pentecostal environment again, something I'm not terribly comfortable with. These people unsettle me, and they're always asking why I won't come back to their church. Irksome, that.

Also not fun is the exhaustion. I have to get there so early to do the makeup, and end up one of the last to leave, so it takes up my entire day. Will try to get online and catch up on replies and such tomorrow or Monday.

Holy Week at my own church has been nice, though. Lovely Maundy Thursday service, and Easter Sunday is always pretty. I love the music we get to sing this time of year. Lots of minor keys during Lent *g*

Anyway, not dead, will have something of more interest to say later :) I hope everyone has a very happy Easter!

I know what you mean about the Pentecostal environment. I've never felt comfortable in that. It's wonderful that you've found a church where you truly belong.

Happy Easter, Cas!

Oh yes, I've been so very happy in the Episcopal Church these past few years. It *is* nice to feel that sense of belonging that I never had growing up.

Hope you had a nice Easter Sunday. Were you able to attend a service?

No, I didn't get to a service, unfortunately. I did spend time reading Scripture and in prayer, though.

My Easter was pretty good. My roommate's boyfriend made a really great meal of chicken and lots of side dishes. It was yummy. :)

I'm glad you were able to spend some quality time and have a good Easter. Your roommate is lucky to have a boyfriend who can cook :)

I also have a thing for minor keys.

Mmm. There's nothing quite like a good minor chord, is there? :)
