Ooh, I'm in trouble.

Like I needed another dessert to be obsessed about. I just bought this package of McVitie's biscuits, and it's almost gone. Granted, I shared some with the Farlow's when they came home last night, but still. They're just little tea biscuits, very plain, but I can't stop eating them. It's a good thing these aren't too bad for me, or I'd really be in trouble.
Pudding, biscuits...if I ever live in England, I'm going to have to exercise so much more to avoid getting fat.
The snow didn't stick yesterday, dash it all. Is it too much to ask that we get a little snow, or at least that the roads ice over, so I won't have to go to work tomorrow? I think not.
For LOTR fans, the most amazing clip of Billy Boyd singing swing music is up over at
boyd_daily. From a recent gig in LA, and he's singing Beyond the Sea!! There are no words. Go forth now and download.
Man, WIP Amnesty Day is still going strong. People are posting their works-in-progess all over LJ, hundreds of the things. It's marvelous :) Lots to read over at
wip_amnesty. My favorites are
tiamatschild's Deryni novels snippets featuring Denis Arilan/Thomas Cardiel. So. much. love.
I've noticed I haven't been getting about half of my LJ email notifications lately. It especially seems to eat up
ealgylden's comments, for some reason. So if you've replied to me somewhere and I've neglected to respond, this is why. *kicks LJ*

Waving...
Date: 2004-02-09 03:28 am (UTC)Watched Billy singing swing music. He also did it I think Sunday in Glasgow with part of Robbie Williams' swing band. I'm like going. Wow Billy singing with Robbie's band. Wow. I just love Robbie singing swing. Billy's not bad. Of course, I automatically which the words of Beyond the sea in french. Charles Trenet wrote both versions a long long time ago. Heard he also sang Mack the Knife. Now that I would love to hear Billy sing that song.
If you want to hear Robbie singing swing music you can at Robbie Williams you click on music and choose tracks. His fourth album is the swing one. I have it on CD and DVD. Fantastic.
*hugs*

Date: 2004-02-09 02:46 pm (UTC)LOL!!!! McVities are *lethal* - don't go *near* any with chocolate on or you're doomed forever!!! Hobnobs - oh what I wouldn't give for a packet...*snorts* Damn it, woman, you've got me wanting biscuits now!!!
Re:
Date: 2004-02-12 08:43 pm (UTC)I'm going to drag Heather to England so we can all sit down and have tea together :)
Re:
Date: 2004-02-14 12:06 pm (UTC)Well we'd get on great then - you can have all the dark ones that I don't like and I'll have the rest ;-) (That would be in the case of us having to share a box of biscuits of course - just preparing for any eventuality!)
And the oat ones that taste kinda nutty.
*dies* oat biscuits = HEAVEN. Add chocolate and you get chocolate hobnobs and then you DIE lololol!!! (Not that I'm obsessed or anything... ho hum...!)But yes, I'm totally with you on the oat front!

Don't think you'll need to do much "dragging" hehe! And yes, you must come (though I'll have hot chocolate rather than tea :-P) and I can bore you both senseless by dragging you round Portsmouth. (When I get there myself that is anyway... *wishes the next 6 months would just go already*

Date: 2004-02-20 09:12 pm (UTC)Mmm, I like this arrangement. It's always convenient when people like opposite things like that. Heather and I share salads quite easily that way :)

Lol! It always amazes me when I hear people say they don't like English food. They must not have tried the biscuits :)

Very true. She's just as eager to go as I am. I'm hoping to go to school there for my master's, so not too much longer to wait, I hope. And I'd love to see Portsmouth, especially the ship-related stuff.
Psst!
