Thursday ramblings and more quotes.

What ho, what ho, what ho! Frightfully busy day today, but tolerably pleasant. No major crises, at any rate. Most of my kids were reasonably well behaved, and lunch was quite nice. I'm really lucky to be working with so many friendly teachers, who've been most welcoming so far. Miles above the coworkers at my last job.
Had a small nap today and am feeling a bit refreshed. I also pulled out the Jeeves and Wooster DVDs and watched The Hunger Strike, reveling in the hilarity of the antics at Brinkley Court. The cast in the first season really was the finest of them all - Brenda Bruce's Aunt Dahlia comes closer to the books than the two subsequent actresses, the girl who later plays Florence Craye is the best Madeline, IMO (and the least annoying, I think), and Richard Garnett is so perfect as Gussie. Add Tuppy into the mix (Robert Daws, who is perfect as well, and one of my favorites) and you have a true masterpiece.
Favorite bits:
- Tuppy, re Angela: "I'm not saying I don't love her. The little blighter. I love her passionately!"
- The look on Jeeves' face, and the tone of his "Very good, sir." when Bertie gets the better of him by packing the white mess jacket after all. Then the bit where he ties Bertie's shoes for him.
- Catching a glimpse of not one, but at least two rubber duckies in Bertie's bath.
*happy sigh* 'Tis true, one cannot possibly be unhappy when reading about Bertie and Jeeves. I imagine there might be some who tire of hearing me go on and on about them, but really, how could anyone not love them?

You are Form 5, Dragon: The Weaver.
"And The Dragon seperated the virtuous from
the sinful. He tore his eyes from his sockets
and used them to peer into the souls of those
on trial to make a judgement. He knew that
with endless knowledge came endless
responsibility."
Some examples of the Dragon Form are Athena
(Greek), St. Peter (Christian), and Surya
(Indian).
The Dragon is associated with the concept of
intelligence, the number 5, and the element of
wood.
His sign is the crescent moon.
As a member of Form 5, you are an intelligent and
wise individual. You weigh options by looking
at how logical they are and you know that while
there may not always be a right or wrong
choice, there is always a logical one. People
may say you are too indecisive, but it's only
because you want to do what's right. Dragons
are the best friends to have because they're
willing to learn.

I got a dragon! This entertains me more than is reasonable, but oh well. I mean to say, what!
Fall Break is here (and with it absolutely marvelous autumn weather), so I get a 4-day weekend after tomorrow. Life is good.

Date: 2003-10-16 08:46 pm (UTC)Everything you said about S1, all I can reply with is: very true. The best cast, all around. It's my favorite season of them all--those eps are very faithful. *happiness* I feel like watching them now. ;)
The look on Jeeves' face, and the tone of his "Very good, sir."
Yup! I love the way he bites that out. Poor chap.
Gadzooks, I scored the Vampire, so it can always be worse, what? ;p
Have a wonderful four-day weekend. :)

I can think of no reasons to avoid doing so :)
A vampire, you say? A nice choice, and just in time for Halloween.
Thanks! Hope your weekend isn't too unbearable either.

Date: 2003-10-16 10:54 pm (UTC)Considering that every other word out of my mouth has been "Hornblower" for the last six months, I'm hardly one to point the finger. lolol... Besides, I love Bertie and Jeeves too :)
He tore his eyes from his sockets
and used them to peer into the souls of those
on trial to make a judgement.
Ouch.
lol. Here's mine.
You are Form 2, Angel: The Pure.
"And The Angel rose as holy protector for
all that was created. She fought with honor
and valor to serve the good of the world. But
the coming of the mankind was her downfall; and
end to purity."
Some examples of the Angel Form are Michael
(Christian) and Hercules (Greek).
The Angel is associated with the concept of virtue,
the number 2, and the element of wind.
Her sign is the zenith sun.
As a member of Form 2, you are a person of your
word. You generally keep your promises and
give everything you do your best. Although
some people see you as overbearing sometimes,
you know that you have to stay true to yourself
and do what's right. Angels are the best
friends to have because they are brutally
honest.

Date: 2003-10-17 08:11 pm (UTC)Hee, good point! It's a good thing I love Horatio and Archie to bits as well :) Hurrah for these obsessions!
Ah, an angel, eh? Where's your halo? ;) Lovely description, I think it suits you.
