I was a bit bored with the pacing the past few eps, but it picked up again a bit this week and got the 2nd Mass moving again, or at least ready to move. Still, frustrating things continue to happen. Ben remains an idiot and is now headed off into what is presumably a trap. Obvious spy!Karen was obvious. Poor Hal, not sure how his relationship with his brother is gonna survive at all after all this, plus there's the potential for the fallout to affect Tom's relationship with all his sons once again.

Weaver's little illness wasn't all that interesting to me, as it was mostly just to get him out of the way for the ep - poor guy's been quite the punching bag this season.

Re relationship developments, Tom and Anne are very grown up about things so far, and while they don't make me excited or anything, I don't mind them. Can't really say I care much about any of the romantic relationships the show is pursuing, tbh. Maggie thinking she doesn't deserve Hal is annoying, but I'm sure they'll get together anyway. Lourdes and Jamil are cute but still in the background. Considering the state of their sanitation resources, I hope they've all been scrounging as many prophylactics as humanly possible.

Glad they finally told us what happened to Uncle Scott. So many characters just kind of disappeared between seasons and makes me wonder what happened to the actors. I wonder how much of that was due to the filming location change and the nearly complete overhaul of the writing team and showrunner replacement.

A lot of characters, Dai in particular, continue to get no screen time, which sucks. I know they have a big cast, but they're really neglecting a lot of them right now.

Kind of disappointed Pope and Anthony just showed back up and we never got to see any of their antics away from the group. That could have been entertaining.

I haven't watched any previews for the upcoming eps, so hopefully the show will surprise me. Only four eps left to go in the season, so they don't have much time. They've been confirmed for a 3rd season, so I suppose we'll be left with a lot of questions just like last season.

Still enjoying Common Law, which grows on me more and more. There are some good female characters, though sadly not as much in the forefront as they could be. Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy if the series focused almost exclusively on the couples therapy group: all the couples are hilarious and those scenes are the most enjoyable for me. Scenes at the station or at Travis's many foster homes are great as well, but the cases themselves aren't anything special. I tire of procedurals these days, so I'd like the show to focus on that as little as possible.

I also really, really want them to delve more into the incident that brought them to couples therapy in the first place. The few hints we've gotten so far seem to suggest it was a much more serious, intense thing than the otherwise comedic nature of the show would imply. Definitely want more of that soon. I'm still wondering how they're going to be able to stretch the concept into additional seasons, but I'm willing to stick with it so far.

Other than new Futurama, that's really all of my current fannish TV watching. Can it be Merlin time now?
