Outrage!

One of my favorite fonts has arbitrarily disappeared from my work computer. I had set my email signature to Bookman, and suddenly today it looked different. So I went to check and the font is gone.

I know the IT guy will probably strangle me if I call him just to gripe about a font, but damn it, fonts are important (not to mention it weirds me out to see things randomly disappearing from my computer, messing up my settings). I LIKE that one, b/c it's easy to read and looks nice on the screen but also looks very nice printed out, so I use it for a lot of my program scripts and other documents. Grr. Back to Goudy Old Style, I suppose, for printing.

For now I think I'll settle on Constantia for the sig, Verdana for the body of emails.

It's a random thing to post about, especially with my sparse blogging habits, but oh well. All hail typography geeks. If nothing else, this led me to some Googling and then to Papyrus Watch, a site along the lines of Ban Comic Sans. Not a bad way to kill a boring morning.

Well, yes, I get lots of good fonts from there. But I'm not allowed to install ANYTHING on my work computer. Only administrators can, and I don't have the access.
