So it's official, Tapping it out, Robert Picardo is in. (Warning, multiple casting spoilers in the article.)

WTF, PTB?

Seriously, you're putting in charge the guy who so far you've never shown to make the "right" decision even once? The one whose decisions swing from wildly reckless to wildly cautious depending on which plot points you need him to fill?

*sigh*

It doesn't help that I've been so bored with this season so far. Everyone else seemed to love last week's ep, and I was bored silly. Perhaps that comes from so many years of watching SG-1 deal with Replicators; they're done, nothing new, please move on now.

Still wondering how they're going to bring back Beckett without just using another AR storyline. Still, if it gets him back for multiple eps next season, I'm all for it.

Plus, we get Daniel for an unspecified but plural number of eps in S5. Hurrah! I'll bet he's been super jealous of Sam for getting to live there for a while and be in charge.

Oh, SGA, you are the most tumultuous show regarding casting ever. Stop with this revolving door thing!

Don't hit me, but I think this could shake up the show in a fun way. So far, I think Sam's been a really boring leader, because she's just... really nice and competent. (Well, SGA!competent. You know what I mean.)

True, Sam is mostly just competent and not all that confrontational so far. And to be honest I miss science!Sam, as in Atlantis she hasn't really done much science lately, and I find it hard to believe she'd be happy with that. Woolsey...well, I'll have to wait and see. It might shake things up, but I can't see many of the Atlantis crew affording him a lot of respect.

*snicker* SGA!competent indeed...
