For some reason, the Official Stargate website decided now would be a good time to give the slashers a shout-out.

By putting up a "favorite Atlantis slash pairing" poll on the main page.

However, your only choices are Shep/McKay, Teyla/Weir, and Ronon/McKay. No Beckett, no Zelenka, not even a frickin' "other" category. It's no damn wonder the fandom's OTP is winning by a wide margin. There's no way to disagree with the choices except by not taking part in the poll.

I swear, I still enjoy the show, but the fandom is enough to harsh any squee that remains. Even the mere mention of Shep/McKay is enough to give me a headache these days (and we won't mention the stupid portmanteau), and I'm petty enough to start adblocking icons.

*sigh* Next season should be interesting.

At least it's Dr Who night. I need some squee, dammit!

Actually, it seems most of the people I interact with have all already downloaded the 'Gates, and I don't pay enough attention to the rest of the fandom, so I've been seeing less of it all. But it's an interesting shift b/c if I discuss the show, it's with a RL friend who doesn't really think about fandom, per se.
