Well, that was another gorgeous episode in terms of visuals, but if ever a series was frustrating when it comes to posing more questions than it answers, BSG is that series. Argh.
Glad to see Starbuck is not a total toasty critter, but I'm sure she'll be going stir-crazy until her hands heal. Still not sure what I think about the whole "destiny" thing, but I'll wait and see on that.
Helo shooting Sharon was rather visceral and I wasn't really expecting it. They were never my favorite pairing, but I've come to like them quite a bit. Very happy they got the baby back, though why Caprica Six came along, I don't know.
I'm extremely sad to be losing Lucy Lawless as a guest star. Very bummed that Brother Cavill switched her off before she could tell anyone what she saw. That character had come a long way and there's still so much potential there, but unless there's a way to get out of having an entire model "boxed", I don't suppose we'll see her again.
Speaking of all that, I wanted so much for them to show us a face. Just one face among those shiny white people in robes. I'd wager a guess that at least one is someone we've seen before - just who would D'Anna have reason to apologize to, and for what? Give! Surely they'll have to reveal at least one of the final five before this season is out? We haven't had a reveal since Cavill last season, so we're long past due.
Query: To change the subject completely, why was there all that fuss back in 1st season about Boomer and the Chief being an item? They cited all those regulations, sure, but no one seems to mind that the Chief married Cally instead. Cally, who was and as far as I call tell is still his direct subordinate. To me, that's a much more problematic chain of command issue. They seem to be working okay together in the field, and she's not calling him sir or anything, but it's still weird.
Tangent to that line of thought, it was interesting to see Boomer so bitter. I'm sure she's jealous of the position Sharon holds now, and to top it off she's done a 180 since her failed attempt at peace on New Caprica. Poor Boomer. She's probably had it the roughest of the characters.
Next week looks abysmal, but maybe they won't mangle it too badly. Here's hoping.

Date: 2007-01-23 08:09 pm (UTC)I think part of it was because Boomer was a commissioned officer, while the Chief was enlisted. The only other thing I can think of is that, when Galen and Cally (not to mention Lee and Dee, who technically have the same issue if you think about it) were married, everyone was starting to settle on New Caprica. People were leaving Galactica and moving down to the planet, so they were really lenient on rules and regulations. And, once they came back to the ship, they really couldn't tell all of the people who were married to get a divorce just because the rules say they aren't allowed to work with each other if they're involved romantically.

Date: 2007-01-26 06:31 am (UTC)Well, D'Anna was only boxed so I'm sure they could bring her back if need be... But at least not for a while.
I'm actually interesting in seeing Caprica!Six on board because it will be perhaps a rare opportunity to have the whole cast together andcommunicating with each other, whereas previously it was just Harvey!Six and no one but Baltar could interact with her.
I wrote this in my journal as well, but my question is if the Temple of Five was built by the 13th tribe and left there for humans, why did D'Anna see the final five Cylons there? Then, as I was typing it I realized that Temple of Five... final Five Cylons... Does this mean Humans and Cylons are connected??

Date: 2007-01-27 06:53 pm (UTC)Did they only box D'Anna? I kind of assumed they boxed the entire model, but maybe that wasn't the case. Someone said Lucy wanted off the show, so I figured she wouldn't be back for a while if at all.
Ooh. Nice catch about the Temple of Five. This could get interesting :)

Date: 2007-01-27 08:56 pm (UTC)I forgot to comment on that. This is, or at least was, also Lost. I actually stopped watching Lost because I got so frustrated with this. Battlestar seems to answer questions better, I think, or at least I find the show generally more satisfying.
