SG1 is back!

Well, in the UK anyway. Thank goodness for downloads.
Dragon still cheesy but omg, Teal'c and his suggestion of "Puff" for a name. Now I want to know who introduced him to Puff the Magic Dragon. I'm guessing either Jack or Mitchell. Hee.
I LOVED Teal'c opposing Mitchell and his little suicide mission simply by grabbing his forearm and refusing to let go. He won the argument without saying anything at all - that's my Teal'c!
Now we get Merlin again, but unfortunately it's not the hot Sam Neill version. Pity. To make up for it - OMG SG1 are the Knights of the Round Table. Well, Sam had to be Guinevere, but still. Daniel as Galahad fits, but what did he call Mitchell? I ran it back several times but couldn't make out the words. That old guy mumbled a lot through his beard. I wonder who Teal'c would be. Kay?
I know it's really the fault of whoever does the dialogue coaching, but if I have to hear Shanks mangle "Myrddin" one more time, I'm going to kill them. I know Welsh is difficult if you don't know the alphabet, but c'mon, people. Would it have taken the writing staff more than two seconds to look that up and coach their actors accordingly?
Heh, these people should know by now what it means when someone tells them they have a final task, says good luck, and then goes to play with alien tech. Sheesh.
"Yet another reason to mourn his passing." Hee! Teal'c gets all the good jokes this ep.
I KNEW Daniel was going to do that. This time there's no Jack to stop him, but if it works he'll be able to, I dunno, build the new weapon himself.
Ah, Percival. Nice. And that was...kinda slashy. *scrubs brain out*
This is going to tie in with -highlight for spoiler- how Daniel becomes a Prior, isn't it? All that knowledge is going to come back and bite him in the ass sooner or later. Probably sooner rather than later. -/highlight for spoiler
I'm so glad Sam got to deal with a sexist comment without giving us another reproductive organs speech.
Aaaaaaaand, now Daniel has telekinesis. Freaky but cool. His reaction is nicely SG-1, a simple acknowledgement that it happened and he moves on. But not without his fair share of hubris to go along with it. I am so loving this development.
Ha! Sam got to bash in Ba'al's nose. Long time coming, too. Go Sam! I'm loving you this season, too. But whoops, now Ba'al has a crush on you.
Vala's response to Daniel's "I know you" is why I less than three Claudia Black so much. "Well of course you do, silly. It's Vala." Perfect delivery. Aw, and Mitchell finally calling him Daniel - saving it for that moment was really quite nice and OMG I could ship this entire team right now. *wallows in squee*
The scene between Mitchell and Vala floored me and not just b/c it was so different from the dynamic between John and Aeryn. It was physical but not sexually charged, emotional without being sappy, and all about the TEAM. Now that's what I'm talking about.
Not surprised Adria captured Daniel, his new mental powers aside. I guess we'll be getting some more mental torture along the lines of what RepliCarter did two seasons ago.
Can it be next week now? I'm sure on rewatching I'll find tons of flaws in this ep, but for right now I don't care b/c I have my squee back and I'm loving my show more than ever. *happies*
Haven't watched the new SGA yet, but I've downloaded it. Let's see if it adds to my squee or harshes it.

Date: 2007-01-11 05:46 am (UTC)It definitely had its anvil moments, its bad effects, and it was pretty predictable, but that didn't stop me from just eating it up. Wow. Everyone got to do something and I loved it.

Date: 2007-01-14 01:14 am (UTC)Just last week I met a friend of a friend who likes Stargate and he mentioned how it was already airing in the UK; I said that he could probably download them but he was going to wait and asked if I downloaded. I said I had dial up and it would really be useless and he suggested that it might be April by the time I would get them downloaded anyway.
Since I've been watching Farscape in syndication, seeing BB & CB on Sg-1 is somehow more exciting, as well.
