Help, please!

Ok, so. Say I wanted to create a community. Say I'd made a banner image for said community, which I want to go at the top. Not a background image, just a header type thing. Say I know very little about override codes.

So how would I go about that? Is that even an option for a free account, or do I have to make the community a paid account to be able to do it? I've searched through tutorials, but I'm not finding the info I need.

Help? Please?
