Back to the daily grind, LOTR fic recs, and GIP!

Well, that's the first day back to work over with. It went pretty well, actually. Uneventful, in any case. My boss was out, still recovering from the gallbladder surgery she had over the break, so I didn't have much to do at all. I'm certainly not complaining :)

My AbeBooks purchase, a Treatise of Artillery, came! It looks really cool, and was originally published in 1780, so it's perfect for my research. Unfortunately, the second book I ordered, the Fortune work on artillery, was cancelled. It must not have been in stock, or already sold or something. *pouts* I still have the other book to look forward to, but coming from England on slow mail rate, it might be February before it gets here.
