ADSL should die.

After being net-less for the entirety of the weekend (which was tolerable b/c we spent it at the Amlwch Viking Festival - more on that later when I've uploaded all the pics), I've drug out the previous USB ADSL modem in order to get online. This of course means that the problem is with the still new wireless modem/router combo from Belkin, which in turn means our idiot housemate bought a crap product. Oy. I do hope he kept the receipts.
B/c this coincided with some maintenance our provider was doing, we'd assumed the problem was with the connection itself, as the modem does turn on and all the lights come on except the one that says it detects the internet connection. But that I'm online now kinda proves the opposite, so an exchange should be in order. I'd prefer to get another brand, actually, just something that won't konk out on us after only a month or two of use.
Oh well, not like I'm going to have much time to be online this week anyway. Still loads to do for my project, and worse, PhD boy that I work with is away for a week. I wish I had time to take a week off for a holiday every so often like he does. Just the upkeep of the animals is time-consuming enough when there's two of us, but doing it all myself is a pain. Luckily my supervisor has given me the OK to put all of his summer workers to work doing cuttle stuff if needed, which will help. I do like going out into the field to collect shrimp, but even just going to Malltraeth for mysids really kills half my work day. And now the camera is acting up and I wasn't able to get the pictures of my dissected cuttles that I needed today. Argh, too many things not working at once!
