After an annoying train delay, mother is safe and sound here in Bangor. She just sent an email off to let everyone back home know she's arrived, and we're having a great time just catching up. There's not much time to do anything terribly exciting today, so we're just going to go get dinner and relax a while. Tomorrow will be sight-seeing on Anglesey :)

Oh, are you going to take her to Beaumaris? I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time, playing tourist guide to your mom. Have a lovely holiday weekend.

Yup, definitely going to Beaumaris. And then to Conwy on Saturday, so that should give us two of the best castles in the area. It's such fun already!

*hugs* Happy Easter!

Oh, Conwy is beautiful. I spent a whole day there, wandering around the town and walking the walls. There's an Elizabethan-era townhouse that's quite a nice experience, and a little street inside the town walls that has three or four lovely tearooms; I don't remember the name of this particular one, but it was upstairs and decorated in Victorian pinks, all rose-coloured and floral, very pretty. And the cakes were wonderful.

Of course, I don't know your mom, but I'd definitely have taken my mom there for tea and Victorian sponge cake.

We did end up seeing both the castle and the townhouse, both of which were just so cool. We had a Welsh cream tea as well - all in all one of the best days of the visit.

She says hi back! This is such fun; we're probably not even doing anything terribly exciting by some people's standards, but hey, I got to show her the cuttlefish today and we saw a castle, so that's good enough for me :)

It really is. I loved being able to show her where I've lived for the past 7 months.

It's interesting just how much better mothers can make you feel just by being there.

Hope you both have a lovely Easter.
