*hates on UWB libraries*

I don't suppose anyone has access to the Netherlands Journal of Zoology, perchance? Or knows someone who does? There's an old article from 1939 I could really use, but have no way to get as we only have them from the 70s onward. I could probably get it through interlibrary loan in time for my project, but not for my lit review.

ETA: Also known as Archives Neerlandaises Zoologie.

Sorry

I checked my university's library holdings and no Netherlands Journal of Zoology.

I checked UCLA's library holdings and theirs only goes back to 1968.

Sounds like no one has it much older than that. I may just have to work around it.

Btw, does your uni subscribe to Behaviour, by any chance? There's an article from 1997 I also need, but UWB only has them as far back as '99. I'm trying to ask around and see if anyone has access to electronic copies like PDFs. *sigh* I accidentally ticked this one off my list and mistakenly thought I'd already gotten it.

It looks like we do. They're bound in the library. What volume and number did you need? What's the name of the article?

Here's the full reference - Boal, J.G., 1997. Female choice of males in cuttlefish (Mollusca: Cephalopoda). Behaviour 134, 975–988.

Is it something convenient for you to get?

OK

I've got the article copied. I'll have to wait until I get home to scan it and email it to you. I don't have access to a scanner here at work.

Wow, thank you so much! {{{{Antares}}}}

How are work and the art classes going? I've really enjoyed seeing all your projects as you've gone along.

Art class is going good. I've gotten A's on all the projects that have been turned back to me. I have to write a 3 page paper on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's color theory. He's better known for writing Faust than color theory. I had to resort to actually checking out his book from the liberary.

Work is work. At the present somewhat frustrating as I keep changing little things that aren't really wrong, but the department doesn't like the way they look.

What is your email these days? I double checked what I had in my contacts and it shows Castalia17@aol.com. I was thinking you got a new addy when you moved to Wales.

Sounds like you're acing the class. I must admit, I had no idea Goethe wrote anything other than fiction. Sounds interesting, though.

I switched to gmail a while back, so here's the new one (just take out the spaces - can't be too careful with spam bots): castaliafoster @ gmail dot com.

I've emailed the paper off to you in two emails. Let me know if there's a problem with them coming through.

Thanks. So far they haven't arrived, so there may have been a snag somewhere.

I've sent them through again. I scanned at a fairly high resolution, because I didn't want any of the text to be blurry. It's made each page rather large. I tried to send them in two batches originally, but I just got them bounced back to my in box. This time I sent an email with each individual page.

It doesn't seem to be in the Edinburgh library system at all, sorry. I guess you've tried the online journal databases?

Yeah, no luck with any of the databases we subscribe to through Athens. Thanks, though.

I could get it, but it would take a few days -- prob not a whole lot faster than you getting it through ILL (I'd have to wait for them to deliver it from offsite....prob not before Monday....then xeriox and mail or fax to you). Am willing to do it, but it's probably not fast enough is what I'm thinking.

Wow, really? Even that would be much faster than the ILLs they do here. Those usually take weeks and weeks. Even if I had it before the 23rd, that would be enough. I would be FOREVER in your debt.

Okay, they say the article can't be scanned b/c the vollume is crumbling, so they're gonna have the volume itself delivered to my campus library. I should be able to scan the article for you on Monday....fingers crossed!
