Colin talks with Gateworld about his interpretation of Major Davis and the desire for him to finally go through the gate.
Encouraging, but I'm still waiting to hear about a guest appearance (hopefully more substantial than the last) for season 10. Some nice insights about Major Davis, but nothing we haven't really heard before.
Just gave my presentation, btw. Went pretty well and I answered the questions thoroughly enough, so I'm pleased. Had to go with "Impact" instead of "Impacted", but oh well. Fonts still looked nice :P
I also earned myself a free pint. Those of us in the Marine Biology and the Shellfish/Aquaculture courses tend tomock tease the MEP (Marine Environmental Protection) people by calling them "dolphin huggers". So, Marie posed a challenge - for all of us to include at least one picture of someone hugging a dolphin in each of our presentations, whether or not our topics had anything at all to do with dolphins. Two pictures would earn us a pint.
I photoshopped two dolphin huggers into pictures for my presentation. This one I'm particularly fond of:

The course directors haven't noticed, despite random giggling whenever the pictures are spotted by the students. It's kind of a fun bit of rebellion on our part, especially towards the MEP course director who is very condescending towards anyone who isn't strictly a conservationist. I keep wanting to ask him if he's prepared to give up all his shiny possessions and stop eating fish so he's not contributing to the exploitation of any marine resources in any way. He also needs to stop complaining about workload when much of that workload recently consisted of spending months on a boat in the Indian Ocean, getting to dive in beautiful coral reefs every day. Such hardship.
