Dude, this sharing of actors b/w the three Friday lineup shows is getting too weird. Major Lorne! Very, very shortlived, but Major Lorne!
...I can't help wincing through all the cloying Lee/Dee scenes. Billy! Plus, the rhyming of their names hurts me. A whole month between eps, too, that's odd for this show.
It's very unfair that the Chief got to show up only for finding the girl in the container. More Tyrol, plz.
Dude, that's John Heard! Looking older and much more rotund these days.
Roslin looking at the picture of her and Billy made me all sniffly again. At least she remembers him.
I totally thought Zarek was practicing his speech in the mirror until they revealed Baltar.
As to the rest...erm. Not really sure. I loved the return to the 1st season style of storytelling, and all the Lee/Kara interaction was superb. Baltar's public backstabbing was a thing of beauty and really, Roslin, you should have seen this coming. As for the rest, I'm still stewing about it, mostly b/c it's an issue I really hate discussing b/c I can't agree with either side.
Despite the overhanging nepotism (good lord, jumping two ranks in a few days, that must be a record), I think Lee will make a good commander. His little moment of panic - "I have the con..." - was beautiful, as was the way he got over it and started making the good tactical decisions he needed to make. I felt bad for Garner, as he was obviously a good man and a good engineer who simply wasn't suited or trained for a command position. Poor Pegasus, though. Three dead commanders in as few months; if I were Lee, I'd worry.
Really, really looking forward to next week's ep. Really.

Date: 2006-02-19 03:53 pm (UTC)The whole abortion issue just struck me as the old "ripped from the headlines" cliche that crops up in every freakin' show. It was a good way to emphasize Laura's commitment to political expedience, just in case that plot point hasn't already been hammered to death. I love that Baltar is sticking it to her. Been waiting for that FOREVER. Watching Six during his campaign announcement was quite telling. She looked so pained when he spoke of freedoms preventing humankind from sinking to cylon levels. Couldn't quite tell if she was angry at that statement or jealous that humans had freedoms. The upcoming cylon-pov episode promises to be quite good.

Date: 2006-02-19 07:57 pm (UTC)Speaking of which, did I miss the part where Garner crossed a transdimensional space/time barrier in the engineering room? It looked as if he left the Pegasus and fixed a World War II submarine. I wanted to shake the writers/producers/setbuilders and say, "Hey! These people built intelligent robots several generations ago! These people can travel faster than the speed of light! These people are driving something a little more sophisticated than a frakkin' radiator!"
The upcoming cylon-pov episode promises to be quite good.
Now THAT sounds promising.
