Oh my. SO much eye candy. Just the teaser and we already get the leathers.
The whole corn thing kinda made me go 'bzuh?!". It's just...corn. I wouldn't expect that as their first addictive alien food choice. And now I want to be invited (along with Daniel, it seems) to Mitchell's grandmother's for dinner. Yummy.
SG-1 arguing over who makes a better drug dealer was priceless. Shaft! More MS and BB look alike jokes! Sam being dubbed as Mary Poppins!!
Teal'c: "I believe the three of you to be equidistant."
Casta: *dies*
How did they get Mitchell away from those guys the first time? One guy had raised a gun, and in RL totally would have fired it two seconds later instead of giving SG-1 time to say "whoops, he must be in trouble" and stage a rescue. But we just cut to them running, no explanations at all. ??
Torture, yay! Not a lot, though. Seriously, we've had electrode torture, Ba'al and his acid/knives/etc, and crazy Goa'uld torture weapons in the past, and the best they can do this time is a few little backhands and some weak punches by extras who aren't very good at delivering them? *sigh* The collars were a nice touch, though. Also, could Daniel look any hotter with the leathers, blood, and excessive arm porn?
...locator implant chips? Ok, on the one hand I can see why this would be a good thing; after Daniel's little kidnapping last week and the useless arm band thingie, that's fair enough. And I'm sure it helps Jack sleep better back in DC. But on the other hand, this is too Big Brother for me. Now the members of SG teams can be tracked wherever they go, presumably even when off duty. That's creepy. And I have a hard time believing SG-1 would so readily volunteer for it unless they can shut them on and off or take them out somehow.
Nero Wolfe is back! Bless him.
New colonel for a new ship. Kinda lessens the impact of the Prometheus being destroyed, and did they have to name him Paul? We've already got a Paul, thank you. One you should bring back, and promote while you're at it.
Cliff Simon's warddrobe keeps getting more and more fabulous. He's the only goa'uld (except maybe Yu, with his lovely robes) who actually looks comfortable in his clothes.
Loved all the SG-1 action aboard the mothership. Their uber hot pose when first beamed aboard the ship was just...guh. Teal'c always needs to have two guns. *bites tongue to keep from making the joke about having tickets to the "gun show"*
Mitchell: "Any ideas?"
Teal'c: *shoots everything, both guns blazing*
Aaaaan, bye bye Maury Chaukin. I like that Ba'al does his own dirty work, though it doesn't really help him much in this case. One more Ba'al bites the dust. This is kinda fun, considering they can just keep killing him over and over again and we never lose the joy of having him on the show.
Great tag, too:
Mitchell: "We have got the best job in the world, don't we?"
Sam: *wtf look* "...I'm gonna hit the shower."
Daniel: *wtf look* "...'m gonna find the doctor."
Teal'c: *Jaffa grin* "We are indeed suitably employed."
Mostly fluff, this one, but full of team goodness. And leather, bondage, and a bit of torture. I'm happy.
Now that's more like it. Much better than the dismal Black Market, and Starbuck is still cool even when she's emoing. Kat is an annoying little bitch, but I still like her, and I especially love it when secondary and tertiary characters get so much screen time. Lee and Kara are hot and dysfunctional and I loved that he kept his head enough to stop when he realized it wasn't right.
I totally thought Starbuck was gonna kiss Kat or something. That was some standoff.
Loved Starbuck and Boomer getting a scene together. I really felt for Boomer when she tried connecting, with the big sister thing, and is cut off by a lot of cocking weapons.
The callback to all the lost pilots was lovely. Kat shouldn't have been so cocky about the whole thing, though, b/c she never would have killed Scar if Starbuck hadn't set up the shot.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
DAMN YOU, RON MOORE!
Frak this. Why Billy? Beautiful, wonderful Billy, who got his heart stomped on before they let him do something stupid and heroic and then killed him. All to save Dee, who was a frakking moron.
That was one of the cutest proposals ever. And she turned him down for Lee Adama? Who is a bit of a manwhore lately, so confused he doesn't know what he wants? She totally played with Billy and I used to like her, dammit. Her sitting at Lee's bedside when Billy was in the frakking morgue made me ill. Damn soap opera romances. Kill off the cute ones and leave the whores. Thanks a lot.
I cried, I'll admit it. I loved Billy. Then Roslin came along and cried and stroked his hair back into place and I cried some more.
Also, poor Kara. This isn't her best week. It must suck having to tell your father figure that whoops, you might have just killed his other son, too.
Dana Delaney did a good job. I hated her nicely. Colonel Reynolds being on both tonight's SG-1 and then this ep was weird.
Sending in the old, dissected Sharon was obvious. The marines should've acted much more quickly and not given the terroists the chance to figure it out.
I wouldn't want to lose Sharon, but dammit, not Billy. I think I honestly would rather have lost Dee.
At this rate, the Cylons won't have to attack the humans anymore. They just need to sit back and watch the carnage.

Date: 2006-02-13 02:47 am (UTC)That's the part that would worry me. *nods* The tech is good if it's kept in the right hands, but as one of the themes of the ep pointed out: Since when did every plan go right? ;)

And I cried too, with Billy. That sucked. And Dee's being a little creepy right now. But Roslin's adjusting his hair, and saying, "That's better"? Waaaah.

Date: 2006-02-12 06:03 am (UTC)I never really took the time to realize this, but it is indeed true. Ba'al is pretty and he knows it. That and Cliff Simon used to be a model. Details.
Teal'c always needs to have two guns.
Made me think of Jayne. I forget the episode of Firefly, but in the commentary they said whenever they needed action to look cool, they would just let Adam Baldwin make it look cool, and that he would just always go in with two guns straight out in his arms.

Ha! That's great. They need to have Adam Baldwin back on SG-1 again. I liked him and his team.

Date: 2006-02-21 01:39 am (UTC)I saw Adam Baldwin on Sg-1 without knowing who he was at the time, so I would love to see him back again as well. As I am sure others would... ;-)

Date: 2006-02-12 03:02 pm (UTC)Have to admit I totally empathized with Dee's cringing when Billy proposed. I've been on the receiving end of two similar sugarcoated situations and really, slamming the door and running is the survival instinct that kicks in. (Insert Ron Moore flashbacks of my Valentine's Days of 1982 and 1983!)
So has anyone written creepy Papadama/Dead!Sharon necrofic yet? He really needs to come out of the freezer. Really. (Insert Gaius smirking here)

Date: 2006-02-12 03:13 pm (UTC)Heh, Daddy Adama does seem a bit hung up on Sharon. Now that you've invoked the idea of such a fic, I'm sure it's out there somewhere.

You know, I can't believe I keep watching this show. Because every couple of episodes, it's like they wrap soap in a towel and WHAP! me really hard in the stomach, and I stand there all bent over and crouched in on myself, gasping, "Thank you sir may I have another!"
