A better pic of the new do under the cut, for those interested.

Ruben the Catalonian shepherd, myself and Helen the kitty.

Damn, five in the morning. Off to bed now, really.

Redheads rule!

[thinking I may need a redhead icon for such moments]

Oh, inspiration! Ive been half wanting to chop off all my hair. But Ive got especially thick hair (one hairdresser was like "you have the hair of three girls!") so Im worried it'll fluff out and make me look like a mushroom of sorts. :\ Choices choices.

I was worried about the same thing, actually. I'm told the individual strands of my hair aren't especially thick, but I have a ton of it and it's naturally quite wavy, so if I'm not careful it can poof out. But I really like the way this cut turned out, and it hasn't been a problem so far at all. Even in humidity, which usually sounds the death knell for my hair.

Exactly!! Thats my problem too! Normal hair.. just LOTS of it! And same with the wavy thing. Maybe we're really sisters and its just an evil plot that we were seperated at birth or something.

How did you tame the beast? Lots of layers do the trick?

*clings to sister in adversity* Lots of layers definitely helps. And my hairdresser usually did this thing with one tool where it only cut some hair and not all of it, which took some of the weight off. I also had to grudgingly admit that the more expensive shampoos designed for frizzy hair really were worth the money, especially since I don't have to use very much with my hair this short. I had really awesome results with a brand from a chain hair salon, Great Clips, which helped with the frizz and made my hair super super soft, but sadly I can't buy it over here. Lately I've been using the Paul Mitchell 'Shampoo One', and it works nicely, though not as well as the other.

When I first blowdry my hair, it can be a bit fluffy, but I just got some hair gel and that tames it nicely and lets me spike it up. I even get that great bed-head look when I wake up, b/c the gel residue leaves it all spiky and cool :) For that I just use a generic version of Paul Mitchell 'slick works' gel (you can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply, if you have those where you are).

Very cute.

I, myself, am not a redhead, but I recently saw a quote about redheads that you may enjoy:

"Once in his life every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a redhead." -Lucille Ball

Tempting me to dye my hair red again. Worked once, maybe it will again..

Heh, go for it! It's sort of amusing; I have a friend who has very curly red hair and though I think she secretly enjoys it, many times, she shows disdain for having such curly red hair when everyone else just loves her hair.

Ooh, I like that one. My favorite is an old Russian proverb - "There was never a saint with red hair."

Whoah, weird. I think I've seen you around. No idea when or where, but you look familiar... o.O Seriously small city, Bangor.

Is that a squash with a straw in it?

Hm, it's possible. But I do get the whole "you look familiar" or "you look like someone I know" thing a lot. The cashier at Morrison's did it the other day :) But yeah, possible, especially considering the smallness of Bangor.

*dies* Yes, it is. Evidently it's a tradition for Catalonian shepherds to carry a hollowed out gourd and use it to hold water or wine. Ruben poured Guinness with blackcurrent into it.

When the picture was sideways, though I knew it was a gord, it almost looked like an arm. ;-p

Looks good Cas!

From the desciption it almost sounds as if the hairdresser did a razor cut. That's what I've had done the last few times. I get mine cut so I can have the back all flippy.

The back of mine seems to want to lie down instead of flip out, but the front will go all spiky. Razor cut, hm? Wish I knew what all those styles were called, might make it easier when I go to the hairdresser.
