Ahhh, Nelson.

*sigh*
It's the Trafalgar Bicentennial and I've been stuck in the same lecture room all day listening to a prominent scientist who, due to said prominence, is a pompous ass. Such fun to be patronized and condescended to all day. Joy.
I'd kill to be in London or Portsmouth right now, as I'm sure there were events of interest for Age of Sail buffs. If there's time tonight b/w writing essays and entering more data for the barnacle report, maybe I can pop down to the Nelson pub in Bangor and have a pint. There's a fair this week in Menai Bridge, but I have to be up early for a fishing trip on the Prince Madog tomorrow, so I can't stay out too late.
*falls over in exhaustion*

Winston Churchill's home in Kent, Chartwell, is also quite nifty. As is the trail over the White Cliffs at Dover. And Charlecote House is wonderful, as is just about anything in the Cotswolds. We went to a bunch of other NT sites, mainly houses, so many that I can't remember them all, but definitely poke through the guidebook they'll send you. Almost everything they own is interesting in some way.
