OMG FIRST EVER PHOTOS OF LIVE GIANT SQUID!!!!

Read that twice and note the important word: LIVE.

Finally! God, that is so cool. Such crafty scientists, those Japanese. I'm sure Steve O'Shea is just writhing with jealousy.

Glad things are moving along okay for you. Don't you just love libraries? Very practical and useful things they are. LOL

Wow. Giant Live Squid. Jules Vernes' novels indeed. Makes me want to read 20 000 lieues sous les mers again.

Libraries are so wonderful, especially when it starts raining and one can duck inside to wait out the storm :)

Mm, that's one of my favorite books. You just can't go wrong with Jules Verne.

Hey, figures the Japanese found it, what with them fishing off the coast of Monster Island. Hope they don't wake Godzilla up again.

Yup, they put in a lot of research on sperm whale migrations and such things so they'd find the best spot to lure in a giant squid. Close enough to Godzilla, I think ;P

I thought of you immediately when I first saw this. *g*

I know I haven't been commenting, but I do want to tell you that I've enjoyed reading about your move to Wales and how you're getting settled in, just as I've always appreciated your cephalopod posts. I've learned a lot. :-)

Aw, thanks. It's gratifying to know someone enjoys my rambling about squids (which is bound to get worse now that I'm back in school for it *g*) and my current travels.

Yay w00t! Totally rockzor!

And thanks to you, when my hubby called me from his office and said, "Guess what someone got live footage of!" I was able to say very calmly, "A giant squid!"

I usually hate the news and avoid it like the plague, so he was both mystified and impressed. Which is a good state for a man to be in. ;-)
