No business like show business...

This has been such an odd day. Oy.
I had a novel experience this afternoon when dropping Hannah off at the Express Shuttle to the Knoxville airport. She's heading home to Maine for the summer so today was our last chance to hang out for a while. While we were waiting for the driver to load the van, a young woman from the Channel 9 News crew showed up with her camera. Evidently the Chattanooga airport has a new flight to Houston (for some reason this is something to be proud of, go figure), but she wanted to interview people NOT flying out of the Chatt airport and ask why. The poor girl was practically begging people to appear on camera, so Hannah and I took pity on her and agreed to be interviewed. We both pretty much had the same reasons - the Chatt airport is nice enough, but very small and terribly expensive. It's hard to find any direct flights for reasonable prices, so I've never flown out of it. I've always gone to Nashville or Atlanta instead. You can save hundreds of dollars and the shuttle is only around $30 one-way, so it's the best way to go.
I ended up chatting with her for a while after the shuttle left and filming some more stuff from a different angle, and I felt kinda bad for her since every subsequent person she asked to be interviewed said they didn't want to if it involved being on camera. I found that odd. Of course, one gentlemen had maybe two teeth left so any reticence on his part to appear on tv is understandable...
So yeah, Casta's going to be on the evening news sometime this week. Heh. Perhaps this will be my big break ;)

Date: 2005-05-18 02:52 am (UTC)But I still check Atlanta and Nashville before I book anything.*g* It's just so much easier for family to pick me up, you know? Plus, getting through security is WAAAAAY easier than Atlanta or Nashville.
As for being on camera...I did that once. For a news station. And they edited it so much that it looked like I was going to vote for Ross Perot! Gah! Last time I shall be on TV for a thing like that.
Re: Huh.
