More Joy needed.

Still nothing fannish to say just yet, as I fail at watching things, reading things, and being involved very much lately. I will catch up on the new BSG eps at some point, I swear.

Today, however, I acquired the best squee-inducing things ever:



I have purple shoes! Seriously, this photo doesn't even begin to do them justice on just how purple they are. They're Rocket Dog "ice cream" sneakers in "electric purple". With yellow accents and bright white laces. I'd seen them at Dillard's at least a month ago while out with shanola22 and was very, very tempted. I don't do $60 tennis shoes, however, at least not the frivolous kind that aren't proper running shoes or something. They were only knocked down to $32, so I passed on them. But never could quite forget the awesome purpleness.

Today I went by on a whim and they were still there, in my size. Marked down even further to $24. This, I decided, was a sign. I haven't bought anything nice for myself in a while, and since I'm getting not only my tax return soon but an additional $80 from my rewards points on my credit card, I figured at least some of that could go for a nice treat.

I am going to wear the hell out of these things all summer. I will blind people with the electric purpleness of my feet. ♥

They are the happiest shoes EVER! I keep looking down and grinning. Seriously, you will be stunned at the electric purpleness of them. I will have to knit some socks to go with them, somehow.

I don't know, those will have to be some freaking impressive socks to match/outshine those shoes. Either something totally insane or really plain.

I have yellow and a bright green if you want to borrow the colors. I probably won't be using them much. (In retrospect, the multi-pack of icing dyes wasn't the best idea.) And if the colors pool freakishly, it still works. I did queue several (supposedly) anti-pooling patterns a while back, though.

Which yellow do you have? I think I have the golden one, which may be okay. I don't have the right green, but I'm not sure I want to go with green. Yellow sounds nice. I wonder if yellow and purple together would be too much crazy all at once. Hm.

I have "Lemon Yellow" and "Leaf Green". Everything in the box seems to be pretty strong, bright colors. There's also a Violet which I haven't used - all my previous purples have been koolaid or accidental blending.

Hm, lemon. That might be good. I already have violet, but my green is something else, a darker shade.

The scarf is blocked and dry and oh! I'm happy with it! It's so fuzzy and warm and pretty.

:D These may actually surpass my little red Chucks as favoritest sneakers ever. And they have tons of other colors (http://www.rocketdog.com/women/index.php?p=prods&view=6), too. I'm lucky I walked out of there with only the one pair. :D
