I really hate having to share this computer sometimes. It's bad enough that I have to hide a lot of my fandom activities so my family doesn't pry into them, but tonight we nearly got TOSed from AOL b/c they say my sister has been spamming. I have no idea why she'd do that, or if she'd even know how, but if she's been giving out her password to friends, or downloading stuff she's not supposed to, then I'm going to be more than a trifle pipped.

This isn't the first time we've had problems with hacking on AOL, and each time it's been through her account. Oy. I'm going through and changing *all* my passwords.

In happier news, I'm almost finished with How Right You Are, Jeeves, and it's fabulous! Sir Roderick! Oh how I'm beginning to adore dear Roddy; it's been such a joy discovering how he and Bertie became chums :) I wish they'd done an episode with this story. I would have loved to see Bertie and Roddy bonding over their mutual history of pinching biscuits from headmasters. Hee!

More happy news - cat is doing much better! The new meds seem to be doing the trick, and she's even starting to tentatively put some weight on her injured foot. It's hell giving her the pills, but she is quick to forgive the indignity and I'm sure she appreciates the pain pills. Thanks for all your thoughts and support, they've really helped! {{{friends list}}}

Oh, great news! Crappy news about AOL, but it's good that the cat's getting better :)

You have my sympathy. It must be so hard to share a computer. My family already thinks I'm strange after watching what I do on livejournal these past few days, so I understand about wanting to hide some of your fandom activities.

I need to get through these books faster! You're all beating me, and I just want to read, read, read.

That's wonderful that Penney's doing well! You must be taking good care of her, and she seems like a very good, special cat.

I don't know your sister all that well but...that doesn't sound like something she would do -- at least not intentionally. I once got an email warning me about sending spam, and I've never done anything of the sort.

Good to hear about cat. :)

Sorry about your computer hassles--that's awful!

I can't wait til I get to How Right You Are, Jeeves. I'm having a dashed good time with The Code of the Woosters right now, though :)

I'm so glad she's doing better!!!

Well, luckily AOL seems to be sorted out, so all is well again :) I'm just happy she's feeling better and trying to walk on her foot now. Yay for new meds :)

Speaking of meds, it's about time for them again. Back to the struggle...

Yeah, my family is the same way. They already think I'm weird enough :) Plus, mum wouldn't understand the slash thing at all, so that has to stay on the DL.

What are you currently reading?

Thanks, we're really trying to do all we can. It's like having a child, in a way :)

Yeah, well it could be that her sn just got hacked again, but I wouldn't put this sort of thing past her friends. Giving our her password to some of her friends, now that she *would* do. Girl has no brain, sometimes.

Thanks :)

Thanks. I think they're sorted out now, so I won't dwell on it. Well, I may yell at my sis a bit, but not much :)

Ah, Code of the Woosters. If I absolutely had to pick a favorite, that just might be it :)

I have a few books going at the moment. The main one is War and Peace, then also Alias Grace and Carry On, Jeeves.

How strange about AOL. I never realized it was a vulnerable kind of thing for hacking. Do you use a cable modem at all? A friend of mine had hacker issues when someone somehow broke through into his. Hope all mends soon.

See, now this is a moment of glee because, oh!!!, you read the bits about Roddy. I literally cried out to my mother when I came upon that passage, "Bertie and Sir. Roderick are friends!!!!!" and had a smile etched on my face nearly the whole day. I loved how Bertie reminded him of earlier days...one of the lads after all, what a great guy. :)

I'm so glad your cat is doing better. ***hug*** I'll wager it was your reading aloud about Augustus that helped her pull round. ;p

We have a dial-up modem. It's just odd that all the hacking has been on my sister's screen name. She must be doing *something* for that to happen.

Reading about Bertie and Roddy becomming friends was the highlight of my day :) Really, they are just too cute. I love how this illustrates what sort of qualities Bertie likes in a friend *g*

{{{Melissa}}} If that's the case, I'll go read her some more!

And she runs around in the background pretending that she doesn't know what we're talking about. As if she could possibly misinterpret you blurting out, "Man, he sure keeps his little boyfriend awfully close!" Or me talking about Trip and Malcolm holding hands at movie night.

lol. But she doesn't care.

She's already been asking me if you're going to come over and watch my SP movies when they arrive.

Ok, so I said that a trifle loudly *sheepish grin*

Of course! I wouldn't miss Jamie Bamber for the world. I mean, he dies in this one, and you know how rare that is...;)

My sister and I are reading it together. She's further along than I am, but I like it so far. It was difficult to keep all of the characters straight at first, because there are so many of them, but it's better day.

Yeah, doesn't it have, like 500 characters or something? That's a *lot* to keep track of.
