Hurrah! Martha is back and kicking ass! I've loved every episode of this season so far, and tonight wasn't any less brilliant. Martha and Donna were both competent, mature women who got along and instantly liked each other and snarked at the Doctor and were just generally made of win. Loved how Donna used her own practical knowledge and went straight for the personnel files, finding an important clue in the process. Really, she, Martha, and the Doctor make a fabulous team. I want to keep them all.
Ross the UNIT soldier was adorable. I want to keep him as well. The commander has potential, but he's no Brig.
The boy genius had a terrible "American" accent, very clipped like it was an effort to keep it up. IMDB tells me the actor is from South Yorkshire, so that's presumably why. They're very big on child geniuses lately, it seems. I kept getting flashbacks to the kid on the Sarah Jane Adventures episode, with the Slitheen.
Not really buying the idea that 50% of the cars on Earth would be equipped with the ATMOS, though. I'm sure most people who drive couldn't afford them, myself included.
I loved seeing Donna fly the TARDIS. She's been so great this season, better than I ever expected. She's smart and snarky and stubborn, and Catherine Tate displays a surprising depth for the dramatic scenes as well. I just, wow. All I can say is SQUEE.
Can't wait until next week! I wonder if the Doctor will notice the clone!Martha or not. I'll bet Donna will notice.
