Almost time for Pirates!

This is a very pirate-y week for me! shanola22 and I went up to see delle on Sunday and we all went to the big RenFaire in Nashville, where it was Pirate Weekend. We saw lots of great costumes, tried on some gorgeous corsets, and just had a fun time in general. Pictures will follow once my camera cooperates and starts talking to my computer again so I can transfer them.

Tomorrow night the local cinemas will start showing POTC3, though I'll probably wait and see it on Friday for a matinee. I hate paying outrageous movie prices. Still, pirates! Whee!

Went to the local aquarium today to pick up an application and stopped by the English Rose tea shop on the way back to get some tea and orange squash, then ended up staying over an hour just talking to the guy who was on staff that day. The shop was completely devoid of customers and the poor guy was so bored. We struck up a conversation about the UK and missing it, then he invited me to have a cup of tea and chat a while longer. It was great fun to talk with someone who loved traveling and really understood the little things you miss about living over there. I stayed until almost closing time and never saw another customer (guess it was a middle-of-the-week lull), and got another invite to come round and chat more often, especially if I'm going to be at the aquarium more often (might have a part-time lab tech job, nothing fancy but at least it's something to do in my field).
