Off to Portsmouth
May. 23rd, 2006 12:26 amGoing to Portsmouth in the morning to pick up some cuttlefish eggs from our source. Part of my project will be looking at methods of transport, so we've got about 12 insulated Thermos lunch bags to lug around on the train. 4 treatments and 3 replicates to carry b/w the two of us - should be interesting. We set up the tank for them today and I think we're all ready to go. Haven't packed yet, but we're only staying one night so I'll just bring a change of clothes and a book to read on the train and leave it at that.
Besides the excitement of this being my (and Nick's, apparently, despite his being a PhD student - maybe he meant his first as a PhD student, hrm) first such experiment of this nature, all on our own, there's also the possibility of going to see the HMS Victory on Wednesday morning. If time permits before our train, that is, though I think it will. Googling revealed a ticket cost of 10 pounds, but hey, that's so worth it to see Nelson's ship. Whee!
In totally unrelated news, I can't stop listening to Lordi's "Hard Rock Hallelujah", the winning Eurovision entry from Finland. My metal obsession is still going strong, particularly power metal and symphonic metal. Anyway, here's the song from their Arockalypse album and the live version from Eurovision, if anyone else wants them. Finland turns out some crazy shit, yo.
Btw, it is totally unfair that the new Over the Hedge movie is already out in the States and I have to wait until the end of June. Incredibly unfair.
Catch you all on Wednesday night when I get back!
