Vids:

The Beautiful People by sol_se - Awesome vid using footage from only "Rising". It's a good introduction to the series, focusing on the first encounter with the Wraith.

Icarus Ascending by Bev Woolf - Also uses clips only from "Rising". This vid is...well, I can't find many good things to say. It's not a bad song choice, but the clips don't match well with the lyrics, and there's not much of a narrative flow. Choppy editing, overlong clips, just an overall meh.

Bullet by akire - This vid frustrates me, because it could be so much better than it is. It starts great. I love the song choice. I love the recurring visual theme of seeing the city rise from the ocean. Part of the problem is the pacing - it needs faster editing, shorter clips in places, fewer dissolves, and more things happening on the beat (though I did like Rodney hopping up on the infirmary table to the beat). It uses a good assortment of clips from all the eps up until Home, but it's hard to pin down a good central theme for this vid. Every time the lyric "we'll shine like stars" came up, I wished for a better matching clip choice. I just get this feeling of such potential from the vid and the song choice, which is frustrating when it fails to completely deliver.

Argh!

I just spent who knows how long removing the stupid Sci-Fi Channel logo from a screencap of Carson for a manip, only to discover it was going to be out of the shot when I cropped the frelling thing.

It's all Rodney's fault. If the pic of him I want to use didn't cut him off at the chest, this would fit.

I was all proud of the logo-removal, b/c it's part of Carson's jacket, lots of colors to work with, and it turned out pretty good. But I don't think I can draw Rodney a new lower half.

What the hell. Maybe I'll give it a shot. The blur action is my friend...
