More LOTR fic recs and a GIP.
Jan. 19th, 2004 01:30 amSo far am having a fabulous weekend. Spent much of Saturday in Chattanooga doing a bit of grocery shopping, with some success. Found the powdered custard mix at the European Market for $2 cheaper than it was at the English Rose; made some tonight and it turned out pretty good. Much better than my previous attempt. Also found some extremely yummy dark chocolate from Germany, and the rose water which had been eluding me for months.
No luck on the Wensleydale cheese, though. The Fresh Market did have Wensleydale with apricot, and Wensleydale with...blueberry, I think, but no plain Wensleydale. No idea why they can get it with fruit but not without. Asked the guy behind the counter, but he said it wasn't available. Will most likely have to import my own damn cheese if I want it. Oh well. Found a website where I can do just that, so maybe I'll order it for a treat one of these days :)
I will admit to a slight amount of guilt today, as I blew off that concert I had promised that guy (yeah, that one) I would come and see. Today was a very dreary, rainy Sunday, and I really didn't feel like going, especially so soon after giving him the "let's just be friends" schpiel. So yeah, didn't go. Am a rude git, probably, but oh well, life goes on.
As therapy, I had a nap, ate some sticky toffee pudding, and played with Photoshop. Still toying with color schemes, and I finally figured out how to add borders on this stupid program! They couldn't be logical and have a button that says "add border", oh no. One has to figure it out by accident when wondering what the "stroke" feature is for. Still, the knowledge has been acquired, and now I have a shiny new Legolas/Gimli icon. The text is (I hope) an equivalent of "One True Pairing" in Sindarin Elvish. They didn't have a word for "pairing", so I chose the word meaning "bond, troth, etc." I had the devil of a time choosing a font this time, though, and I'm still not sure this one is just right.
