castalia: (Sailor's Life)
Today was Celebration Sunday at St. Luke's, which heralds the start of the new church school year, and all the programs that go with it. We also go back to the two services schedule. Next week I'll be starting the Inquirer's Class, and if all goes well I'll be confirmed by the Bishop on Dec. 14th. I'm really looking forward to it all.

After an afternoon nap, I headed over to my alma mater, Lee University, for their first chapel service of this semester. They invited a bunch of local churches to sort of pimp their churches to the new students (and doesn't that look like a bad way to say that...). It was...interesting. The chapel service brought back some memories of our upbringing for both myself and Father Joel. We didn't really join in with the other churches in handing out a lot of brochures and stuff, since the whole "accost the new students and hand them stuff" thing isn't really us. We decided that we should stand there and "look reasonable" ;)

I think I'm coming down with something. I should've expected it, seeing as how I've been so run down and tired lately. Today I was feeling very phlegmy (if that's a word). It may just be my sinuses, at least I hope so, as I really can't afford to get sick, dash it.

Yesterday I was driving, listening to NPR, and they played the Jupiter section of The Planets. This made me really miss my marching band days. The Planets used to be a popular choice for a marching show, and I remember several such shows which were quite good. *sigh* I may be haunting the local high schools and any local marching competitions this fall.

My copy of The Return of Jeeves is due back to the library on Tuesday. I'm hoping this will prove sufficient motivation to finish the dashed thing. The lack of Bertie is so crippling to my willpower.
