You may or may not like the Theatre, as the recent story arc is fairly John-centric. OTOH, I use every available opportunity to completely and utterly humiliate him, so YMMV. ;)
I suppose we should be used to the character continuity problems; after all, these are the same people who brought us SG-1. Character continuity is usually an accident. *g*
