I'm certainly very envious of your trip to England, even though I'm going myself soon. The Victory is on the top of my list of things to see. You're right about the low ceilings - it was mostly a space issue, and most men would have had to stoop to walk below decks. Stephen and Jack both bang their heads a few times. *g*
That old "people were shorter back then" thing doesn't really hold up. Average height fluctuated quite a bit throughout history, more of an up-and-down thing than any steady trend. So tell your friends you were right ;)
What will you do in Wales? (Other than have a marvelous time, of course.)
Well, I imagine most of my time is going to be devoted to my studies. I'll be busy plugging away at my master's courses and doing some research for my thesis. Hopefully I'll have enough spare time to check out a few of the sites, though. So many things to see!
