Oh, bloody HELL...

New spoilers for a late season Atlantis ep just got posted over on GateWorld.
Glad no one else is home, b/c a loud, plaintive "noooooooooooo!" just echoed through my house.
This part was actually good news:
Teyla has been having traumatic nightmares, leaving her with some sleepless nights. She shares this with Major Sheppard, who in turn tells Atlantis' resident psychologist, Dr. Jane Heightmeyer.
So, they did indeed bring a shrink along. Good stuff. And she even has a full name, stupid though it may be.
Unfortunately, I hate her already, b/c of this lovely news:
Dr. Heightmeyer -- a sophisticated woman in her mid-30's (with whom Dr. McKay has started a relationship) -- approaches Teyla and tries to get her to open up.
*headdesk*
Why, why, why? This doesn't even make sense to me. Rodney is seemingly the first to start up a conventional relationship in Atlantis? With the shrink? Damn it all to hell. I honestly thought Rodney was going to be the safe one, in this show. Shep would get all the canonical het stuff, and I'd be free to slash my OTP with no worries.
Carson's going to be so heart-broken. I know I am. Dammit, this is going to make writing my essay for
ship_manifesto all the harder.
I'll just have to wait for the ep where the evil shrink dumps Rodney and he turns to Carson for comfort.
