People go shopping in their PJs, right?...

*sigh*

There's nothing quite so irritating when one is ill than getting up to discover there's no milk for one's tea. Argh.

Normally I'd be rather upset about not working much this week b/c staying home equals less money, but I feel rotten enough to be glad for the extra sleep time. I'd feel guilty for doing nothing but sitting around in pajamas, but since I'm eating almost nothing aside from chicken noodle soup and crackers, I figure it evens out.

I finally got curious and bought one of those neti pots for sinus irrigation that I've been hearing so much about. It's awkward and messy and an incredibly odd sensation, but it does seem to work well enough. I'm hoping in the long run it'll reduce my sinus troubles.

Is it Saturday yet? *needs new Merlin now*

The stretch was a bad thing, yeah. I've done a simple checkered thumb gore instead so the increases were a breeze and I didn't have to bother staying in pattern. It's doing the decreases in pattern that's the problem - since I've used sport weight instead of fingering, I have 1/3 fewer repeats of the pattern and that looked odd to me. So I shifted the thumb around so that I get the big pretty snowflakes centered on the top of the mittens. Unfortunately, that means my decreases are in the middle of the chart instead of at the sides, so I have to pay much more attention to where I am and how to make the pattern line up properly.

... Yeah, I'll let you do that and I'll stick with ribbing. Lovely, stretchy 2x2 ribbing! How fast it works up! How deceptively tiny it looks! How funny it is when I mention it and you pull faces!

EWWWWWW ribbing. :P I think I'd rather mess with the damn decreases than do ribbing. Oh, how I hate it. The lovely thing about these mittens is only having two rows of ribbing. Yay!
