Battlestar Galactica' Outing Two Gay Characters in Upcoming Webisodes

In news that I doubt any Battlestar Galactica fan will find shocking, one of the gay characters is none other than Lt. Felix Gaeta (Alessandro Juliani). The man he'll be seen making out with is Hoshi, who may only be known by the most faithful BSG fans. Hoshi is the former communications officer on the Pegasus, who now holds the same position aboard the Galactica. He took over Gaeta's duties for a short time when the lieutenant was traveling with Starbuck aboard the Demetrius.

I must admit, while I'm so not surprised at who it'll be, I'm disappointed that they've relegated this revelation to a webisode and not the actual series episodes. Points for the thought, but utter fail for the exectuion.

I wonder if its a matter of "relegated" or "really didn't have time for, and at least we're putting it somewhere, rather than neglecting it all together"?

I hope that's all it is, rather than just not having the stones to put it in the main show. Though it seems if they can make time for Baltar's Harem, they can squeeze in a little character development time for Gaeta.

Yes, I kind of wonder that, too. I'm not shocked that they would do it, but it is interesting that they don't put it in the regular series. They slipped the other gay character into the TV-movie and not the regular series, as well. It's also interesting that his partner is the Pegasus job-equivalent of him.

When are the webisodes coming?

*nod* And honestly, they need a few examples of not-quite-as-fraked-up gay relationships to make up for the movie stuff. Yikes.

No idea on the webisodes, to be honest. I haven't seen a date posted anywhere, but I don't go looking very much b/c of spoilers.
