Getting away from the stress for a few days...

Well, I just sent off an email to my supervisor with a rough (very rough) methods and results section of my thesis, with a few bits of discussion thrown in. It's not finished by any means - still plenty of discussion to write, a few more tables and graphs and diagrams to put in, and one chapter is only in its beginnings, but I wanted to get some feedback on what I've done so far. I need to know if I'm on the right track with my analysis.

I've never given a professor such a rough copy of my work before. I don't like showing anyone the not-yet-refined stages. So, yeah, a little nervous here. Still living in fear of getting it back with a "WTF? Is this all?" reply.

The reason for this little deadline I set myself for today is I'm leaving tonight for Portsmouth. Marie and Helen have interviews there for a PhD, so I'm tagging along for the free accomodation and the opportunity to see all the ships and nautical type things I missed out on before. Then it's off to Plymouth and some place in Devon to stay with Marie's family for a few days. It's weird, b/c while I'll be taking the train back to Bangor on Saturday, Marie is staying in Plymouth. So many of my classmates are starting to leave for home and other endeavors and although yeah, there are plenty of us still around it's a bit sad to see them go. I've gotten a lot closer to these people in one year than I ever did with the people I went to undergrad with. I can't wait to see Heather again when I get home, but I'm going to miss my new friends.

Everyone's still talking about New Year's plans, but while it's relatively easy for all the Europeans to hop down to Spain for the holiday, there's no way I can make it. It's going to suck being so far away.

Am going to try my best not to think about any of this crap the rest of the week. The rough draft has been emailed, nothing to do about it now but wait to hear what he says about it. I doubt I'll get much internet access this week, so I'll see all of you on Saturday.

*hugs lots* Take it easy and just focus on the pretty ships ^^ Oh, and buy me something cheap and touristy. :P Hopefully you'll be able to keep in touch with your friends still, even though it'll suck not being able to hang with them on New Years :/

I hear ya. I'm the same way.
