SG-1 and 'lantis and House, oh my.
An SG-1 ep that has the same title as one of the best X-Files episodes plus guest stars Agent Pendrell? Score!
Daniel really is clueless when it comes to these things, isn't he? I think it honestly didn't occur to him that Vala might think the dinner thing was a date.
I liked the cop, very nice casting. And it's too bad we didn't see Vala going back to the diner afterwards to see Sal and thank him.
I'd like to know what was said when Teal'c whispered in the guy's ear. Not what Teal'c said, though. What CJ said, and how many takes it took before no one laughed. B/c you just know he said about a million different dirty and/or whacky things.
Cameron in leather = hot. Cameron in leather on a motorcycle = even hotter. Cameron shot and bleeding and cuffed to a bed while naked = omgI'llbeinmybunk.
I LOVED how Sam kept teasing Cam about losing his pants. Now that we know he was born in 1970, we know that Cam's the baby of the group (even though BB isn't), so I like that they all tease the hell out of him despite him being the "leader". And they're letting Sam be funny! It's about damn time. More Sam and Cameron interaction, please.
I was expecting the ending, but it wasn't disappointing. I still don't see any romantic or sexual vibe from Daniel and Vala but that doesn't keep me from enjoying their evolving relationship. I love that they care about each other, that Vala gives Daniel so much shit and keeps him on his toes yet she does care about his opinion of her. Great collision of strong personalities.
Amnesia cliché plot made fun by Claudia Black. Not the most brilliant episode ever, but I was entertained, didn't get bored, and we got good character interaction. And there was half naked Ben Browder with twinkie on his face. I count this as a win.
Overall reaction - I LOVE THE HEWLETTS CAN WE KEEP JEANIE PLEASE OH PLEASE?!
Seriously, I can't wait to see A Dog's Breakfast and it's too bad Carson wasn't in this ep so we could see how Paul and Kate interact on screen. Still, having her and David together playing siblings was gold. It brought so much realism to the episode and I loved it.
Loved all the scenes at Jeanie's home. I loved that her daughter was playing with trains and not dolls. I loved how Jeanie put family as a priority but that didn't stop her from being brilliant or continuing to contribute to science when she wanted. I loved that she and her husband (the English major, hee. What a pairing.) talked about things and made the decisions together and that he never made a fuss about her doing what she needed to do.
For once, the surprise guest star was in the teaser so I was actually surprised instead of clueing in after seeing the name in the credits. Sam was good, would have liked to have seen her interact with Jeanie more.
Unfortunately, once they got to Atlantis it kinda went meh. I hated the bits where the team was making fun of Rodney like a scene right out of high school. (And I never want to hear Flanigan try to act like he's laughing EVER. AGAIN. God, that was the most annoying sound on the planet and we had to hear it twice.)
WTF Merideth? What happened to those diplomas and degrees on Rodney's wall that clearly read "Rodney Ingram McKay", with the Ingram part in honor of the Dr Ingram character who was first planned to be the Rodney character? I hate when they chuck canon out the window just for a cheap laugh. And not a very entertaining one, either.
Rod wasn't terribly interesting but I won't complain about DH in leather with cute spikey hair.
I was a bit surprised they didn't try the experiment again and try to figure out how to focus it on one of the uninhabited ARs, but oh well.
Good ending, certainly. The hug between Rodney and Jeanie made me tear up, and I place that soley on the shoulders of the actors, not the writers. The sincerity in the scene was what sold it. I really hope they bring Kate Hewlett back again, b/c she's brilliant.
A lot to take in, character-wise, so I don't have many comments yet.
Surprised to see the wife from Apollo 13 in the premiere, but cool. A good ep all around, even though nice!House was weirding me out. The ending made me tear up a little right along with Cuddy.
Whoever wrote and directed the second ep is obviously an X-Files fan. Nifty. It also had a nice title.
Loved Chase in the second. He keeps his space as my favorite Duckling for now. The yo' mama joke, however, fell flat for me.
Very much enjoying the continuing repercussions of the ketamine experiment and all the actions of various characters throughout. Not surprised that once again Wilson and Cuddy are meddling with House b/c they think they know best. I could see the points from both sides of this, actually, which made it interesting. Wilson's comment at the end, "I was afraid your wings would melt" was so...surely there's another term than slashy. No? Okay.
I hope we see more of this next week. From Wilson's facepalming, I think he knows he screwed up and that House is going to be a little angry with him for a while. Somehow, I don't think House'll be angry with Cuddy at all. He realizes that Wilson was the one orchestrating the deception.
I've gotten so little thesis writing done today it's sad. *tries to kick own ass into gear*

SGA: Again, What You Said. The opening bits with Jeannie were just wonderful, and then it all went pear-shaped with the arrival of Ace McKay, er, Rod. HatedhatedHATED the high school cafeteria crap. Why won't they let the team be adults? Whyyyyy? The ending was nice, though, especially the hug. *sniffs* I hope we see Jeannie again.
LOVED last night's House. Much much much love. All the XF and SF jokes, plus we even got a nod to Blackadder with Cameron's quip about Cuddy and Wilson's "cunning plan."

Oy, yes, the high school mockery in Atlantis was just too much and annoyed me, as well. It was just... to much for a laugh. But I thought it was kind of mean as other times they are all friends. Strange. But the Hewletts were indeed wonderful.
House without the cane was kind of strange. And apparently it makes him dress nicer?
I do understand both sides, as you do, but I thought it was kind of unfair to keep the secret from House.
I kept thinking there was going to be more to the story with Chase in the last episode because he talked with the parents and the scene where he said to just cure the boy and not worry about what caused it. Hm.
