castalia: (SAJV Quote - words)

Bit of joy, bit of bleh.

Lit review is done, whee! Just under 9,000 words which is certainly acceptable. I keep poking at it, but it's more or less finished.

The plankton flux report, on the other hand, is not. It is evil and incomprehensible and I hate it more than words can say. What a pointless assignment. If I wanted to be a physical oceanographer I would've done the freakin' Applied and Physical Oceanography master's, for crying out loud. I'm a behaviorist, so I really don't give a shit about water transport, plankton flux, or bloody prismatic approximations.

There is also much worry and sadness, b/c one of the cuttlefish in Tank D doesn't look good at all. They must have been fighting in that tank, b/c it has some nasty abrasions on the mantle and a lot of skin damage. It looked very listless and ill today, so I'm worried we may lose it, poor thing.

*heavy sigh*

I need tea.

GIP, b/c I've been watching a lot of The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne lately. And it's a damn amusing quote.

ETA: Report is done, though it is probably shite. At any rate, it is very short. I don't feel like I've understood the subject matter anyway, but there's nothing I can do about it. The lit review was more important and worth 4 times as much. I keep worrying I've forgotten something in the review, but at this stage I can't feasibly add too much more in there. But my word count is good, I think the structure works, pretty sure I caught all the little mistakes, and my reference list is suitably extensive. Only managed one massive table, which is good for summarizing, but I still wish I could've found some good pictures to include, just to break up the text. Argh, too much fretting.

Adorable icon!

Sorry about the plankton and the cuttlefish. :-( Using my only sealife-related icon in an attempt to show solidarity.

Thanks! Alas, I fear I may be guilty of thinking that quote to myself at times.

I love that icon. It always makes me giggle a bit. I needed a good giggle in the face of an assignment I don't really understand (but I don't feel too bad about that b/c no one else gets it either).

*uses own Finding Nemo icon even though it's not as cheerful*
