*sigh* Icon theft.

So, a friend points me to the David Hewlett mailing list on yahoogroups, says it's cool. I join, and hey, quite a few people on there, it seems, and they post news and reviews and great screen caps. And so I said yay, this is nice. Some of them are a little nuts, but hey, it's a mailing list.

Happiness, right?

Well, until I looked in the folder marked "icons" in the photo section. They've put up a bunch of LJ icons without saying where they came from or who made them. Almost half of them are mine.

[livejournal.com profile] nostalgia_lj? I know I recognize several of yours. And there's some I've noticed people on my flist using.

I know there's a new icon theft kerfuffle every week, but these things are irksome. I wouldn't care if it were just bases, but dammit, I put a lot of time and effort into these things, and when I post them I request credit. They do include a link to [livejournal.com profile] atlantis_icons in the links section, but that's it.

Now I have to figure out who to complain to and how to do it relatively politely. I'd hate to have my introduction to the list be all "Hi, I'm new. Btw, you suck!".

*sigh*

erg, I feel badly. I am the one who posted the link to [Unknown site tag] to the yahoo kiddos. I didnt know they were gonna steal. eeeek.

but in their defense, it would seem that some of them were not very familar w/ livejournal, so I'm sure they met no harm.

-sends castalia vitural baked goods and begs forgiveness-

damn html, the unknown tag is supposed to say Atlantis Icons.

further proof they shouldve never taught me html...

Oh, don't feel badly. Totally not your fault. Those not on LJ won't always be familiar with LJ netiquette.

The forgiveness is yours automatically, but I'll accept the baked goods anyway ;)

is grateful.

-passes Castalia a vitural scone-

this might sound a bit dense, but how do you pronounce your name? I fear I am butchering the pronounciation...

-gives more scones, includes a Wesley or a Giles.. you can decide...

Castalia: rhymes with Australia ;) Really, that's the easiest way to think about it. The first A is short, the second long.

Mmm, I love scones. *goes to get the clotted cream and jam*
