Merlin 3x12

OMG, stuff is finally HAPPENING!

Everyone knows about Morgana now! The LOOK on Arthur's face!

From the looks of the season finale, all the Arthur-era knights are coming together! He'll have Leon, Gwain, Lancelot, and Elyan for a start. That's a good solid group to begin with.

I'd like to hope maybe Arthur can find out about Merlin's magic, or even reveal he's known for a long time, but just having Morgana finally make a move may be all the show is willing to give us this year. Argh.

I'm also a bit leery of how they're going to get rid of Cenred's magical immortal army. The preview shows us Excalibur, but do they REALLY want Arthur to have to personally kill every single man in Cenred's army himself? Kinda hoping they won't go there, b/c that's not really what I want in a hero.

tell me - was i the only, at the start of the ep, going "YOU KILLED SIR LEON! YOU BASTARDS!"

~cough~ just me? okay then.

Definitely not just you. I was SO relieved when the Druids showed up and fixed that. No hurting Sir Leon, please. :(

Sir Leon is a total rockstar :D

I have not watched this season yet. I have it, I just haven't gotten around to watching it for one reason or another. Season 2 irked me, so I've been leery of Season 3. Now that most of my other shows have gone on Christmas break, figure it's a good time to start catching up. :)

There's a lot to like about season 3. There's Gwaine, at least :)

Got caught up over the weekend. I really like this season better than last. And yes, Gwaine (which I still want to spell Gawain, dammit) is, mmmm, lovely.

I also like what they did with the Arthur/Gwen relationship. It seemed so out-of-the-blue last year. This time, yeah, I can buy it better. It'll be interesting to see where they go with that, especially now that they've brought Lancelot back.

*nod* I agree with some people on my flist that Gwen seems to be in love more with the idea of Arthur as a wonderful king than anything else. She likes him, certainly, but there's not really any passion there like she has with Lancelot.

Which is good, because that's in keeping with the original legends. Guinevere loved Arthur as her king, and all that he represented, but her heart belonged to Lancelot the man.

Definitely. I have to admit I've never been fond of that part of that version of the legend, but it's interesting to see it playing out on the show. I think this is the first time I've actually really loved any Lancelot :)

Some version are more sympathetic than others, but yeah. And yes, I like this Lancelot much, much better than most of the others. They've made him an exceptional knight without also making him a Gary Stu. Plus, the actors have wonderful chemistry, which is a must for the romance to make any sense.

The class issues are interesting as well, with both Gwen and Lance starting out as commoners in this version. I can't wait to see where they take it.
