Dreamwidth

I won the code lottery today so I went ahead and created a journal over at Dreamwidth. I'll play around and see if I like it, but LJ will probably remain my primary journal for the foreseeable future. I like it here and have a permanent account, after all.

So, anyway, castalia at Dreamwidth. I thought for once I'd get the short, simple nick I go by, not a longer version just b/c other people have always beat me to it. At least on one platform, I'm first ;P

Sorry to all of those who I already subscribed to using the OpenID account and am now resubscribing to with this one. And damn, that's longer than just writing "friending". */lazy*

There is indeed. Unlike InsaneJournal, a lot more fannish people seem to be getting accounts at DW, but although they claim to be more fan friendly, they're not really a "for and by fannish people" place necessarily. But so far there are no ads and some admittedly cool settings, so we'll see. If nothing else, I wanted to claim my username.

Actually, IJ has plenty of fans -- all the ones who were attacked and alienated by BNFs at LJ. :-)

My permanent account is at IJ and DW has no appeal whatsoever because of the 'holy land for us special fans' aspect of it.

Ah. Their site scheme really turned me off, so I never got an account there. Honestly, despite random upheavals, I quite like LJ and am happy with my permanent account. I'm sure something will happen at DW to take away its holy land ideals.
