BSG - where you can never really expect their unexpected.
OMG.
Seriously, OMG!
I love that this show consistently surprises me with the directions it takes, and how things that previously were so obscured just click right into place with sudden clarity. LOVE.
So, was Natalie!Six the dying leader? Or is the jury still out on that? If she was, does that mean Roslin won't die, or possibly she will but she'll die without that conviction that at least she was destined to do something epic, the stuff of legend? The implications go on and on here. I'm sad to lose another Six, though; the two most recognizable version (thanks to the different hair) is gone now, and Caprica has been stuck in the brig for ages now. Will the Eights pick up the slack for the rebel Cylon movement? Leoban doesn't care enough, too obsessed with Starbuck, and the two most individual Eights aren't in the right position to do so, unless Athena steps up or Boomer switches sides again. *restrains self from going out and looking at any of the spec*
I love that instead of leading humans to "their end", Kara's the one to lead the Cylons to their "ends", meaning their mortality. Awesomecakes!
Hera is a creepy kid. Yikes.
Gaeta's singing was also creepy, but not as creepy as Doc Cottle's decision to LET HIM STAY AWAKE THROUGH THE DAMN LEG-CHOPPING OFF PROCEDURE! Dude, I don't care what the patient is insisting, you don't do that! Surely waking up to a missing leg you knew was going to be missing when you woke is less damaging than lying there fully aware of what's happening, numbed but still possibly feeling the pressure of the saw and...god, that's got to be traumatic. Gaeta was always a bit messed up, but I think he's gone cuckoo by now. I'll bet those other patients will be begging Cottle to sedate the guy after a few days of lovely yet depressing warbling.
Anders has, against all odds, become one of my favorite characters these days. They've made him so much more complex than I ever thought they would. Small roles this week for the Fantastic Four, but each one was subtly meaningful.
LOVED that Roslin knew all about Tory's little escapades with Baltar. Tory, you should know better than that by now, really.
Also cracked up at Roslin's reaction to Baltar's reaction aboard the base star: "Let God's will be done." "Shut up."
Totally didn't expect the jump at the end. Oh, that's so cool. Can't wait until next week. Btw, I didn't watch the previews, so no spoilers, please.
