That was fun! Somehow Jack's stint on the main show turned this one into something that's actually fun to watch. The team was a real team, there was good banter, they ran with all the silliness like the blowfish alien in the sports car, and I didn't even want to kill Owen even once! That's pretty good in my book.

The science in this was awful, but everything else was just fun. Loved it. Was so glad they didn't make Marsters go with the Spike accent - this one was toned down and much more Mid-Atlantic than anywhere specific. Very relieved on that. He also wanted to shag a poodle and had a terrific outfit and just made me laugh in general.

I must admit, I don't really get the whole cliché kissing/fighting thing, though. It's never seemed hot to me, b/c in my head violence just /= hot. But the snogging itself? Oh yes, very hot. More please.

Less of the Gwen/Jack next time, too. Yikes that was bad, especially the crack about Rhys being the "only one who'll have me". Be more confident in your choices, Gwen! Still, I love Rhys so I'm thrilled the previews show he gets to find out when Gwen does for a living now. Yay, Rhys!

Best scene of the ep = Jack asking Ianto out on a date. That was adorable and well acted and I wanted to hug both of them. Now if they'll just let us see the date on screen. Please please please? Diolch yn fawr.

Ianto was the best one, with his silver platter and his stopwatch and his saving the rest of the team. Yay, Ianto! I just wish everyone on the team (with the exception of Gwen) would stop mispronouncing your name! Actors, you are in Wales, please to be noticing how the names are pronounced. Seriously. No As said with long AHs in Welsh. None. Stop it.

Previews look good, but mostly I can't wait for Martha. Martha!! *bounce*

How do you pronounce it? Ianto? Ee-ant-oh? Ee-ahn-toe?

However you do say it, Ianto was AWESOME with an awesome cherry on top! He did save the day! And yeah, I'll pay money to see that date.

One more thing: Gwen. Like you said, Be more confident in your choices, Gwen! I yelled, "Get a fucking backbone, Gwen!" when she spoke to Jack alone. Rhys is made of a fair amount of AWESOME himself, and I want him to stick around. I want them to have that relationship, with its ups and downs.

If you wanted to pick it apart it would be Ee-an-toe, but the first two are slurred together so it comes out as Yan-toe. Short A sound as in apple, with the stress on the first syllable. Most of the other English actors are saying Yahn-toe, which is fine if you're English but not for Welsh.

I'm really, really hoping we get to see the date. That would be so cute! Though if we do, I'll bet it'll be interrupted by some sort of nasty alien.

*nod* I was so disappointed that they're pretty much saying she only said yes to Rhys b/c she can't have Jack or Owen or anyone else. I thought last season she decided she loved him! What happened to that? It's fine if she's unsure or nervous or whatever, but acting all ambivalent like she doesn't even think she loves him and is just saying yes b/c of lack of other options? That just sucks.

I cannot overstate how LAME that is! Way to make Gwen suck like a Hoover. Flawed, even unsure of herself is fine. Spineless lovesick flunky? *RAGE*

To me it just came out of nowhere! After all that angst last season when Rhys "died"...I thought she'd kind of figured out that she really loved the guy.

That Gwen/Jack thing? A world of NO. It came up in the first couple episodes of the last series and after that it was more about team/friendship than romance, and wrenching it back in that direction feels like a sledgehammer worthy of season four of SG-1 Sam/Jack. Argh.

And, dude, Ianto rules. There are not enough words in the English language for how awesome the date-asking-out scene was.

Ugh, yes. It doesn't fall quite as flat as Sam/Jack, but it comes pretty damn close. Especially since Gwen is just all sigh-y around Jack, and around Rhys she seems happier.

I keep watching just that scene. I love it so!

Exactly. He's a lot more reliable, too. C'mon, the cooks, cleans, has ambition in his job enough to get a great promotion, and is being a pretty good sport about her secrecy and weird hours.

Aw, come on! Land fish! Driving a sports car! Killer lip gloss! That's skience at it's finest. ;) And I'll forgive a lot for Jack's very interesting pose when he died.

Ianto = love! The silver platter, the date. Not so much the pink shirt, but much love for the rest.

I'm really hoping that Grey (who John said he found) is the son/baby Jack mentioned being pregnant with in the first episode of Torchwood. All the timelines could converge!
